Inspired by work in high altitude fixed wing flight research on Noctilucent clouds I asked the question: How much does the canopy of a military aircraft distort the visual images that are taken through them? Do we need to correct for this distortion to obtain accurate data, especially went determining the location of atmospheric phenomenon such as clouds and sprites.

With a camera, grid, software and military aircraft, I got to work. F-16’s, F18’s, MiG29

Data is still currently being processed.

Working with the legendary Mig29 to better understand optical image convolution.
